What a year it has been! And in the end, we all survived out publication pregnancies (even the guys) and gave birth to our little book babies!!! And what better way to celebrate new babies than to . . . take pictures!

So for our exceptional, brilliant, lovely followers, the 2009 Debutantes present our book babies! (Clicky for biggie.)

And last but not least, all our books showing a little leg . . . er . . . cover.:D

Congrats to all our Debs!! What a year it has been!!!!!
Happy 2010 everyone!

I wouldn't really call this video a book trailer ... I'd call it more of a book cameo. An an homage to Snuggies, which we fly white girls know are super dope.

Enjoy! And don't forget to order today so you can take advantage of the crunk posse member special offer!

If you find yourself at the crossroads of insomnia and insanity, this is the place to channel those demons that keep you sleepless. Vivid pictures, poetry, ruminations, and confessions from the nether hours between dusk and dawn. Originally formed to celebrate the city at night, there's a strong urban theme.

Self-described as "a little community with a lot of rage," you can soak up impassioned vibes and read blistering exposes detailing sexist attitudes in the news, pop culture, and science! A must-join community if you are, or love, a feminist. (NB: the topic of whether a "man" can be a feminist is outside the scope of this spotlight, but will probably wind up on the Writer's Block.)

The Debut Library Winner!!!

  • Jan. 1st, 2010 at 1:01 PM
Since October, we've been getting amazing entries from libraries all over the world, and in the end, we had photos from 70 libraries! It's hard for us to believe that 2009 is officially over now, so we're excited to go out on a high note: donating FORTY SIX of our books to a single library's collection.

We've enjoyed all of these photos over the past few months, and if you'd like to take a look at all the awesome entries again, just click here.

And now, we're so excited to announce the winner of the Debut Library Prize. To announce the news, Aprilynne Pike let us use her kids as our random number generator slash hosts!

Congratulations to Beckman High School Library! Thank you so much to all the other libraries who entered!

Our Debut Year is over now, but the Debs are still bringing you new books. Check out our 2010 Release Page for our continuing adventures. Thank you all again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, [info]renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.
